OSCC Awards Programs
OSCC offers three award categories to showcase excellence in chamber management and promotion: Chamber Achievement of the Year, Chamber Executive of the Year, and Chamber Publications. Award applications are due in September or early October. Each category has a committee that reviews the entries and chooses winners in early October. Winners are recognized at the annual Leadership Conference.
Chamber Achievement of the Year
The purpose of the Chamber Achievement of the Year award is to recognize an Oregon State Chamber member chamber for a program or initiative that elevates the role of their chamber in their community. The award highlights innovation, impact in the community, and collaboration and leadership.
The Outstanding Chamber of the Year for 2012 went to the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber Executive of the Year
Criteria for the William R. Haas Chamber Executive of the Year are based on personal character, management excellence (dependability, success, competence, and ability to carry out chamber program work), community relations (service to community and visitors, community and professional involvement), and leadership (outstanding performance which demonstrate leadership, ability to motivate volunteers, enhance and retain membership,
and generally improve public perception of chamber).
The William R. Haas Chamber Executive of the Year, 2012 was awarded to Skip Hauke.
Publications Awards
New this year we have created additional categories, as well as brought back some of our most popular ones, to allow for more streamlined entries. Categories include: Chamber Marketing Piece, E-Newsletter, Printed Newsletter, Map, Membership Recruitment Piece, Printed Business Directory, Tourism Piece, and Website. Judges will also have new criteria which specifically fits each award category, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach which used the same judging sheet for each category. Within each category, awards are given for best Small, Medium, and Large Chamber. Award applications are sent to Brandi (Hereford) Ebner at the Wilsonville Chamber of Commerce.
